What is a Transcript of Training? The Transcript of Training is a breakdown of the modules of the course, as well as the actual hours that you personally spent on each module Please note this is different to an Academic Record, which lists the actual results achieved
Why do I need one? All overseas Health/Nursing councils require the Transcript in order to register you You are required to be registered with the Health/Nursing council in all foreign countries before you can work there
Where do I get it from? Please apply to the College/University where you studied If the College/University has closed, then you should apply to the SANC
Which courses would I need one for? The most important is your basic training (i.e. 4-year Nursing & Midwifery Diploma or Degree; or Enrolled Nursing and Bridging Course) Should you have a post-graduate Diploma that is relevant to your current work experience, it is recommended that you apply for this too (i.e. Critical Care Diploma, currently working in ICU) - For post-graduate courses that were studied part-time, the Transcript is generally not possible, in which case you should obtain an Academic Record for this
When should I apply? If you are serious about wanting to work overseas (whether it be in Saudi Arabia; the United Arab Emirates; or the United Kingdom) it is important that you apply for the Transcript NOW! The document can take several months to be issued, therefore it will cause major problems and delays if you wait too late!
How much will it cost? Please enquire directly with the College/University regarding their costs. The SANC charges R1,600.00 for this document. We know this is a lot of money, but think of it as an investment in your future. There are also other expenses involved after you get a job offer, so its better to get this expense out of the way ahead of time.
